My Studio
I have my own recording studio at my home in West Sussex, with top of the range industry-standard equipment.
My equipment includes:
A Rode Nt2A condenser microphone with shock mount & pop guard, a FocusRite Scarlett Solo interface and a Tascam TM-AM1 Boom Mic Stand. I record with these on my MacBook Pro laptop using Audacity as my Digital Audio Workstation. The soundproofing has been done using professional quality acoustic foam panels which are designed specifically for noise absorption, to optimise sound quality and eliminate reverberation, echo & waves. I also have a professional quality sound blanket, for extra absorption.
The result of all of this is a nice dead space, perfect for recording audio.
The other great thing is that we’re in the dead of the countryside, so it’s already super quiet and unlike in London, there’s no traffic, sirens or building works to compete with.
I absolutely love working at professional recording studios with sound engineers, and I’m based in London anyway, so it makes no difference to me where we do the job, but I may be able to save you or your client money by recording from home.
